IS IT LIKE THIS EVERYDAY?


Is it like this everyday? is a piece created in 2007 in collaboration with Sophie Schapiro, performed at the first showing of the collective CoLab at Barnard College. Casting ourselves in roles from our recent past as teenagers in small towns in America, we thought about the possibility of shared dreams, both as nocturnal events and as waking fantasy. The piece culminated in improvisatory dancing in front of a white sheet, photographed by each other as we alternated roles. These still images help us form an imaginary space together, a memory of a dream that we both witnessed.
